The Vietnamese zodiac is based on the Chinese zodiac but a cat instead of a rabbit. This is due to the similarity between the Chinese character 卯 for "rabbit" and the Vietnamese word Mèo for "cat." The scene portrays two main characters from different worlds coming together to wish for a flourishing year.
